- Creating image layers of memories/ things we have seen/ old and young people
- Creating objects that relate to the rupture between culture and nature/ relate to objects things that we have seen on the street
- Create a path inside the space with the works we created that relate to the people and objects outside the studio.
- Combine the embroideries/ drawings with the objects, create layers on top of layers.
After Image
The term After Image can be interpreted in many ways.
It could be that what is between past and present, reality and fiction.
An After Image can be the recreation of a moment, place or person in ones head, but it could also be a reconstruction of things we have seen and experienced.
Things we see and experience gain meaning through the cultural context we live in. But this cultural context is not static. Especially not in Holland where people with all kinds of different cultural backgrounds live and mingle.
The way we see and interpret things are influenced by our cultural background, the way we are raised, places we grew up, people we have met, places we travelled to.
Is it possible to create a collective After Image?
